Willie holdman biography
So, he followed his heart and the landscapes that captivated him. Following his success, Willie reinvented his career again. I want a fresh canvas. Willie finds himself constantly inspired by the wild landscape of Utah. He moved to Heber from Orem 20 years ago and has made it his mission to explore every nook of Mount Timpanogos. Among those places is Mount Timpanogos, and the results of 15 years of giving particular attention to the majestic peak are showcased in his new book, Timpanogos.
Holdman was introduced to photography at a young age accompanying his father, a professional photographer, on assignments for National Geographic. Now he carries his own tripod. Before planning a photo shoot he watches the weather and makes adequate preparations. It usually turns out to be a day or two. He works autonomously and prefers partly cloudy days when shooting.
It is my desire to do portraits of the Earth, to capture her personality and true character. In order to experience this phenomenon of nature we must be attentive to the subject. Just as people only reveal themselves, on special occasions, to people they know and trust, so too, does the Earth save herself for those who respect her and are willing to make the sacrifice to journey off the beaten path and wait patiently for the rare moments when she reveals herself.
I invite you to join me on some of my adventures by viewing some of my favorite pieces of work here on Made in Park City.
